This is the Malaysian version of Hong Kong’s Cyberport and Dubai’s Internet City. The masterplan for this RM2 billion integrated development, as conceptualised by visionary architect Jon A. Jerde of the United States was unveiled in late 2005. The Selangor government hopes to make i-City a twin city of Silicon Valley in California.

The Soho offices and serviced apartments will be launched in 2H2010.


Setia Alam Precinct 1

29. NAZA's KL Metropolis Matrade Centre Developments

Matrade Centre

A flagship mixed-development by NAZA Group, this will be Kuala Lumpur's latest iconic project situated on a 24.2ha land beside the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) headquarters and the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex. It will be home to Malaysia's largest international conference and exhibition centre, catering to regional trade fairs for heavy industries and advanced technology exposition.


The development concept will be similar to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), but will be 8 times larger. Four international architects are currently bidding to design the masterplan that will include a shopping mall, office towers, hotels and apartments. It was reported in December 2009 that NAZA Group plans to build a 100-storey skyscraper here, eventually becoming the newest international icon of Kuala Lumpur.

The New Sime Darby World Headquarters (status: N/A)

These are the winning entries for the new corporate headquarters of the post-merger Sime Darby (formerly known as Synergy Drive). Sime Darby is Malaysia's largest conglomerate and has extensive operations in the Asian region. A new headquarter is most appropriate to reflect its growing corporate empire. Its proposed site is in the vicinity of the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.
